Vera is a dreamer and a maker. After negotiating the Sustainable Development Goals on behalf of the German government, she worked for the United Nations Environment programme to make sustainable resource use as popular as she thinks it should be! After volunteering for several months in Greece in 2015/16 during the high influx of refugee arrival, she co-founded her social enterprise “mimycri”. At mimycri locals and refugees design and make quality products out of existing materials – the initiative has received multiple awards and reached over 90 million people through newspapers and TV. Vera is also a professional outdoor guide, who loves to create space for exploring and discovering both nature but also oneself. Vera loves to motivate others, is a Ashoka changemaker and is interested in social psychology, politics and games.
