Hamdan Al-Zeqri is a 34 Yemeni, arrived in Italy 13 years ago to be operated because of a bone pathology. In 2017 he received the Italian citizenship. Hamdan is a practicing muslim who lives in a catholic community near Vicchio, that he calls his “big family”. He is the Islamic minister of worship in the Sollicciano penitentiary, an Arabic/Italian teacher, and the official Italian-Arabic translator of Florence’s Court and Hospitals. Along with being one of the TEDxSanaa’s speakers, nowadays Hamdan carries out the delicate task of Cultural Mediator.
