Calimaia is an artistic collective dedicated to young professionals working in the field of visual communication. The collective is based on the motivation of its members to establish themselves in Florence, aiming to give more strength to the individual and to propose itself as a bridge between the professional and amateur exhibitions present in the city, through collective exhibitions, performances and evening events. Calimaia wants to be the spokesperson of all those intangible values on which the solidity of a group of people is built like collaboration, exchange and knowledge. The choice to operate in the field of graphics and illustration derives from the lack of a dedicated organization in the city that divulges the profession of graphic designer: the desire is to raise awareness of the profession by selecting artists working in the field (students and established professionals), hoping to renew the artistic life of Florence.
